BATANA also known as American Palm oil ( Not to be baffled with African Red palm oil or Ojon oil), is a nutrient-rich oil derived from the kernels (seeds) of the palm tree’s fruit. It is produced primarily in Central and South America from the Elaeis oleifera species, particularly in Honduras. The oil has a thick, creamy consistency and a dark brown color in its raw form. Batana oil is high in fatty acids, making it a popular choice for hair and skincare routines.

These are all various species of Palm oil. But the most sought after is the American Palm which is grown primarily in Central America by the Moskitia tribe. And is known around the world for its hair growth and skin properties.

I have been studying and working with BATANA oil for several years and my hair and skin loves it!, as a poised ingredient in many of my formulations. There has been a recent increment in the interest of the many benefits of Batana oil. Batana oil is rare because its extraction process is very labor intensive and mostly done by hand. Each American palm tree produces 10 to 20 large fruit bunches every year. So i have decided to develop a few products to allow everyone to get the opportunity to share in these benefits, because of the recent increase in demand for batana oil. I have noticed the quality of the oil has been drastically reduced, Because of this I have been working strategically with my suppliers from Honduras and West Africa providing the richest batana oils possible.

I source PURE COLD PRESSED Batana Oil Sourced directly from the Moskitia tribe in Honduras and West Africa.

Both Batana oil and West African palm kernel oil are derived from the kernels of palm fruits. They are dark brown, almost black, smell like coffee, crumbly texture, and will remain hardened in room/cooler temperatures or cold weather (in the fridge). In hot weather, they are in liquid form. The primary difference lies in the species of palm trees they come from:

  • Batana Oil: Produced from the Elaeis oleiferaspecies native to Central and South America.
  • Palm Kernel Oil: Extracted from the Elaeis guineensis species, commonly found in West Africa.

WHAT MAKES MY BATANA OILS BETTER?
I source two kinds one made by roasting and one made without roasting because this Batana has been COLD PRESSED this allows the oil to stay pure and retains its nutrients that are destroyed by heat. Making it a stronger more potent higher quality Batana. This version is very exorbitant to produce which is why it is not entirely known.

Cold-pressed versions of both Batana oil and palm kernel oil tend to be lighter in color compared to heat-extracted oils. This is because cold pressing preserves more of the oil’s natural nutrients and avoids the browning that occurs during heat-based extraction. The lighter color is often a sign of minimal processing, making these oils particularly appealing for natural skincare applications where purity is a priority. However, the traditional methods in both Africa and Honduras is the roasting/heat method. Cold pressing isn’t common with locals since it requires special machinery which many don’t have.

Again this is a COLD PRESSED batana oil not roasted. This Highly Poised as "Miracle" Oil that instantly melts into hair and skin for immediate softness and hydration! While offering hair growth benefits. Deeply conditions your hair and skin, especially beneficial for those who have curly, dry, or very coarse hair, as this texture is naturally dry believe me it’s mind blowing.
